At Inventing For Humanity, we love a great “hero’s journey” story; creating something from nothing to protect the world just because we care. We are proud to be a part of the people changing the world for good, not simply taking a profit. We focus on individuals and generous groups donating to support our efforts across the world. Each donation goes toward delivery of systems throughout the world.
Clean Water Project Foundation started began long before the non-profit was officially formed. The original inventors, John and David Byrne, started the foundation as a means to deliver their original creation, DrinkPure, to the world. They had seen that brilliant ideas are often ignored in developed countries because people fail to see the applicability. John and David spent their own money to create DrinkPure, not taking a dime from anyone, simply because they knew that the solutions pushed on other countries by developed regions are not solving the issues. Clean Water Project Foundation stemmed from this effort, when it became clear that other inventors, and the help that David and John want to continue to give, need a vehicle to raise money for the delivery of solutions. So began our movement, Inventing for Humanity.
Our journey began in our trailer; twenty-four feet (7.3 m) of lifelong memories. Between almost being caught on fire – twice, withstanding the humid Georgia summers, the frigid cold nights in winter, and many trips across the county; our trailer was both our laboratory and our love.
After several months of working with concentrated solar, and harnessing the massive amounts of energy we were able to generate, we realized we had developed something truly special. Over the next several months, we began refining a device we had created to recycle energy used for heat treatment at 99% efficiency.
In February 2019, we completed our first prototype, achieving 98% efficiency. Our first product was large enough to serve the drinking water needs for up to 3,000 people per day per World Health Organization standards. This was a massive success. The journey had only just begun, however, and we now had to begin rebuilding the entire system with FDA approved materials, and getting the cost under control.
In September 2022, we were invited to demonstrate our technology for the Outreach Council at Loma Linda Unversity. We demonstrated the capability of our EnviroPure system to these doctors, receiving feedback and high levels of interest.
John and David quickly realized that they needed a vehicle to deliver their invention to the world, and that there are many inventors in a similar situation. Inventing for Humanity, officially Clean Water Project Foundation, was founded in order to give inventors a means to show their creations to the world, a windows that those in need could find the solution they have been looking for. Inventing for Humanity will change the narrative, and help people understand that unique situations require new solutions, even if these solutions do not meet the needs of developed countries.
