Lets talk about the issues.

Wells pull water from underground water tables. Human activity, ranging from farming to industrial processes, contaminate ground water.  While many aquifer settings provide raw water of high purity with respect to pathogens, this will not be the case when:

• The aquifer system is of a type that will not permit recharge to undergo an adequate residence time before reaching the supply. These could be aquifers where flow is along well-developed fracture systems, or gravel deposits where flow is intergranular but the permeability and groundwater velocities are very high.
• The aquifer is under the local influence of surface water. Examples include shallow boreholes or infiltration gallery systems adjacent to rivers (where the formation is acting mainly as a prefilter), and situations where the supply is effectively tapping ‘surface water temporarily underground’. The latter includes all springs, wells and boreholes in karstic limestone areas, rural supplies fed by field land drains and some catchpit systems drawing from very shallow-circulation spring systems.
• The location, design, construction or operation of the borehole, well or spring tapping the aquifer permits water of recent origin to ‘short-circuit’ and mix with the main flow system, thus contaminating pristine groundwater from the aquifer. Examples include runoff entering via abandoned wells or shafts, or by overland flow to a spring box due to inadequate cut-off wall/bund, or ingress down a borehole annulus from defective casing or inadequate sanitary seal. A variant on this setting is where the screen design of the borehole or the well permits mixing-in of contaminated water from an upper level, either an overlying superficial aquifer or a separate shallow flow system.

Heat is the universally accepted method for killing pathogens in water; the WHO has published a guide with the recommended time and temperature settings to ensure that water is safe to drink. However, as the WHO and all other health bodies point out, this consumes significant energy, and is a major contributor to greenhouse gasses because of the high energy requirements to heat water.  DrinkPure is the most effective method currently available to heat treat water with little to no maintenance, enabling you to boil water with only 1% of the energy that would be required to boil the same amount of water on your stove, addressing the concerns of greenhouse gas emissions. . 

Heat is the only alternative to chemicals in order to ensure that all pathogens and other contaminants are dead or inactivated in organic waste. Composting is what most people are familiar with, but what is less known is that composting simply relies on heat produced by the consumption of nutrients to kill pathogens. However, this slow process leaves significant room for error, putting lives at risk.  EnviroPure is the only method currently available that enables a faster, more reliable heat treatment with a negligible energy requirement. With EnviroPure, waste treatment takes minutes instead of months. 

Boil water notices are a surprisingly common occurrence in the industrialized world. When a boil water notice occurs, you must either boil your water before drinking, or buy bottled water. Even if you have a filter, you must ensure you perform the required maintenance, or it will not protect you. UV treatment systems are ineffective when boil water notices occur.  A DrinkPure system is the most effective way for organizations, households, or communities to heat treat water quickly and efficiently in times of need. The low maintenance requirements means that even if you leave it in a closet, the DrinkPure system will be ready when it is needed.

Yes! Not all situations require ultra-filtration technologies, the type commonly found in hospitals. Water treatment is all situational; what is the problem you are trying to address?

At Inventing for Humanity, we recognize that not all situations are the same, and many people are just trying to not get sick from the water they are drinking. This is why our flagship system, the DrinkPure, focuses solely on killing pathogens. This allows us to deliver a maitenance free system. 

Yes! The WHO has completed extensive studies to show that heat treatment is an effective way to treat water. 

What about donations?

Inventing for Humanity delivers truly unique solutions in order to make every donation go further. Where other organization advertise that your $20 a month donation will deliver water to 8 more people, our solutions will deliver to 200 additional people per year for ever $20 a month donation. We achive this in two ways:

  1. We focus on the problem. People are getting sick from the pathogen in their water.  Solutions are given that communities cannot maintain, or require a constant stream of money to keep operating. Instead, we deliver a system that is a one time investment, and keeps the community from getting sick. It is that simple. 
  2. We build all of our systems to be shippable, and easy to operate. Ideally they will fit as a checked bag on an airplane. We do not plan to go to every location that requests a system, as that easily adds $1000 per system delivered; we are not voluntourists. We deliver systems that are easy to use, and do not require us to accompany the delivery. That is our promise. 

Your donation pays for the creation and delivery of systems around the world, and associated operating costs. That is it. 

For contributions of cash, check, or other monetary gift (regardless of amount), you must maintain a record of the contribution: a bank record or a written communication from the qualified organization containing the name of the organization, the amount, and the date of the contribution.

For any contribution of $250 or more (including contributions of cash or property), you must obtain and keep in your records a contemporaneous written acknowledgment from the qualified organization indicating the amount of the cash and a description of any property other than cash contributed. The acknowledgment must say whether the organization provided any goods or services in exchange for the gift and, if so, must provide a description and a good faith estimate of the value of those goods or services.

We provide all of the necessary information, in the form of an email receipt, anytime you donate to Clean Water Project Foundation using our website. 

We will provide a written receipt for any cash contributions.
